The ninth generation of Pokemon is coming to the market. Today, Pokémon Presents broadcast announced the release of “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet,” the latest installment of the original series of Pokémon games following the release of “Pokémon Sword and Shield” in late 2019. The Nintendo Switch games are expected to be publish by the end of 2022.
The graphics from the trailer look like the recently released “Pokémon Legends: Arceus,”. However, the footage may not show actual gameplay. so it’s as yet hanging out there assuming we’ll experience over-world Pokémon once more (that execution worked in “Arceus,” however we should not pull a “Pokémon Let’s Go” once more, please.) However, the YouTube portrayal of the trailer pronounces, “Welcome to the open universe of Pokémon,” so perhaps this game will take a gesture from “Arceus” (which isn’t in fact an open world game, yet it’s the nearest thing the Pokémon establishment has to a “Breath of the Wild”- style experience).

We see some familiar friends like Magnemite, Lucario, Hoppip, Drifloon, Combee, Meowth, Pikachu and others in the trailer, but the only new Pokémon we see are the nine starters of the generation, which have yet to be named. Obviously, these new friends are Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly.
- Sprigatito is a “capricious, attention-seeking Grass Cat Pokémon;”
- Fuecoco is a “laid-back Fire Croc Pokémon that does things at its own pace;”
- Quaxly is an “earnest and tidy Duckling Pokémon.”
We have a bizarre threesome here. There’s a charming little grass kitty (effectively my pick), an apple-molded, fire-type dinosaur (genuine potential for a last advancement here, don’t let us down), and a water Pokémon that in a real sense resembles Donald Duck – don’t tell Disney’s lawful division.
